Arch Coal Announces Dividend

Arch Coal Inc. (NYSE: ACI) fell to a loss for the second quarter of $2.05 per share compared with earnings of 4 cents per share last year but revenue rose to beat analyst expectations and the company announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.03 per share payable on September 14, 2012 to shareholders of record August 31, 2012. The stock price surged $1.17 to $6.43.
