Dominion Virginia Power Exceeds First Storm Restoration Target

RICHMOND, Va., July 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dominion Virginia Power has exceeded its first target in restoring power to customers who lost service because of the severe storms on Friday and Saturday. As of 10 a.m. today, service had been restored to more than 860,000 customers, or 86 percent of the 1 million who were affected by the storms. More than 5,000 Dominion employees and retirees, contractors and utility crews from other states and Canada will continue to work around the clock to exceed subsequent restoration goals and complete the restoration process as quickly and safely as possible.
