Promotions Hurt Olive Garden, Darden Q4 Sales Miss
Diners are heading out to eat but still remain budget conscious during the uncertain economic times. Darden Restaurants (DRI) reported fourth-quarter sales below Wall Street estimates as promotions at its Olive Garden chain fell flat. The restaurant operator's Q4 earnings rose 15% to $1.15 per share, in line with estimates. Sales rose 4% to $2.065 billion, missing estimates of $2.108 billion. Shares fell fell 0.9% to 94.94.
